-
Duarte - Fado
Duarte, in addition to being a remarkable performer, stands out for his great qualities of writing and composition. Without upsetting the fundamentals of traditional fado, he breathes into the genre a freshness and delicacy that enchant.
The album Clair-Obscur was born in the heart of Lisbon, in Alfama. It was in this neighborhood that Marie discovered Fado - the musical expression of the soul of Lisbon - through the powerful and modulated voice of Duarte.
-
Vladimir Reach - Piano
On the occasion of this launch event, which honors the different musical genres of the Clair-Obscur album, Marie invites her cousin and pianist Vladimir Reach to revisit Bach's Goldberg Variations, one of the works that marked her childhood.
Marie grew up in an environment where classical music was omnipresent. She remembers long evenings in her family home in Brittany where Bach's Goldberg Variations were regularly played on an LP.
-
Joao Ventura - Piano
From his passion for classical music and popular Brazilian music was born "Contraponto". A project that unites these two worlds in a unique symbiosis. This elimination of the borders between two musical languages, apparently so distinct, is inseparable from the artistic personality of João Ventura.
Marie and Joao met during an artistic residency in Portugal, where Joao illustrated the art of "Contraponto" with subtle references to the composer Edward Grieg in his song Waiting for Summer.
Gabriel Chaile
Marie and Gabriel met in 2020 during an artistic residency and surprisingly produced two projects that share the notion of light and darkness.
Gabriel develops a visual language rooted in ancient and modern forms, indigenous craft and social advocacy. This new series of drawings, which he will present for the first time at Théatre le Ranelagh, is a visual and emotional interpretation of Marie's Clair-Obscur. He works with pigments on a charcoal background allowing him to extract mystical forms from the darkness, he explores the relationship between art and music, and integrates the latter as a new component in his creative process.
